Welcome to ‘Newham Together’ – the best place for children and young people

There has never been a more exciting opportunity to grow and develop as social worker in Newham.

Newham has a really ambitious programme of work underway led by our elected Mayor. The Council has a number of key priorities, including community wealth building and giving local people access to great life opportunities. Essentially, securing a fair deal for anyone in Newham and Children’s Social Care is at the heart of this transformation agenda.

My key ambition is to make Newham a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Children’s Social Care by 2023, Vital to this is making a reality is by investing in our workforce. This means recruiting, retaining and investing in outstanding social workers.

We are building a culture of openness, transparency, and accountability, where everyone feels valued and empowered to make a positive impact in families’ lives. Our new ‘Newham Together’ practice model will adopt a restorative approach, focus on building relationships with families and each other.

We want social workers to join us on our Ofsted improvement journey, who are up for a challenge, who want to make a difference and most importantly want to improve the outcomes for children and young people in Newham.

Join us on our journey to make Newham the best place for children and young people - a ‘Centre of Excellence’ in Children’s Social Care by 2023!
