We are here to ensure children, young people and their families feel safe and receive the right care at the right time. To enable us to achieve this goal our staff must feel confident, competent and valued. Our new social work academy will offer a comprehensive range of personalised training, learning and professional development opportunities. We are committed to a ‘systemic’ approach, drawing on the expertise of colleagues within the organisation and leaders in the social work field and accredited Continuous Professional Development post-graduate programmes with leading universities or other professional institutions.

Our offer includes:

  • Up to 12 days of continued professional development each year
  • Assessed and Supported Year in Employment with the North East London Partnership programme
  • Access to our Practice First Programme mapped to the Knowledge and Skills Framework and the multi-agency Local Safeguarding Children Board training
  • Membership of Making Research Count and Care knowledge which provides a wide range of evidence-informed practice and resources
  • Access to a five day introductory course in systemic practice – with the opportunity to join a pathway leading to accredited training with the Institute of Family Therapy
  • Opportunity to take on a role in a range of specialisms in your substantive post with additional training
  • Post-qualifying awards in Practice Education and teaching and learning opportunities for experienced social workers through our University partnership
  • 1-1 coaching for practice leaders and service managers
  • An opportunity to join the national Firstline leadership programme
